Hey guys, Blizzard Entertainment revealed a new gameplay video from the Beta during the 26th of July Press Tour.
They also revealed that you will be able to sell and/or buy items at the Auction House of course with in-game money, but also as you can see in the example below, with real money.

Here is the gameplay video :

ForceSC2strategy have also post this video about the Auction House system :

I wonder if the in-game gold value will maintain a decent level, or spiral out of control like we see in other MMO's where RMT's exist. In Final Fantasy 11, gil was pretty difficult to get, so it mostly maintained a decent level of value. Anyone else have examples where in-game currency still maintained value, or what would allow it to maintain a value? I am poor with economics...

You think things spiral out of control in WoW? I see you havent played EvE online. People run corporations and have jobs there, and they can actually transform their pay into money. It isnt even a game anymore, its a whole closed economy.

More on topic, I keep getting surprised by Diablo news, and it hasnt been pleasant so far.

they just implemented what was forum based transactions in diablo 2, nothing really shocking.(a friend of mine used to make pretty good money by selling in game items on different forums)
plus this auction house keeps everything under blizzard's control and allows them to collect fees on every transactions.

what i'm more worried about is that new video :/ it looks terrible ... from animation to graphisms and sounds.

WoW gold became less valuable only because it became easier to get. I have played EVE online, and I do know what youre talking about! I am very aware that people could potentially make great money by providing items in D3. Its actually smart for Blizzard to do this as mentioned above: They control the flow of the cash, by removing the middle man (RMT).

I'm only thinking about the people who dont really want to pay RL money for items. I hope that gold will still maintain a value that I could potentially still utilize the auction house. Otherwise I imagine it will end up where people will put up an item for 2.99$ and then put ridiculous amounts of gold on it (999,999,999) so that your only real option is to pay the money.

I guess its good to know there will be 2 auction houses. I feel that the good items however will be only on the RL money AH. Why wouldnt you? Even with the fees.

Just to complete with my opinion, just hypothetically, I think they will add a BattleNet Wallet like the Steam Wallet because they announced the Starcraft2 Market too, so the money that you will make in Diablo 3 will probably be at least for the first part virtual an usefull into other Blizzard markets.

Again, nothing official here, just my opinion.
In advance, sorry for eventual english mistakes.

Hm I've always been one of the guys who barely spent any RL money on ingame stuff since they always shorten my ingame playtime, cuz when i buy something with RL money, which I could have get through ingame-activities, i dont have to do anything ingame in order to get certain objects, but once i archived what i wanted to/e.g. for D3 all ingame quests+equip, I will have no fun and prolly stop playing it. :(

So I hope the good items can also be bought with ingamegold.

edit: hm my post kinda sounds stupid, but I'm too tired atm, so i hope you get my point ;)

Well, I think it's more like an option that you have, another way to obtain an item and probably way more quickly. But to stay logic, I don't think that they will add any specific real money items or version of items, at least I hope, this idea sound stupid to me.

Hey guys, lot of news about Diablo 3 this last few weeks since the closed beta came out at start for Friends & Family only, now for press and big fans website, and soon for some lucky random guys !

Here are the most important announce of these last days

Released Date (Source)
Blizzard announced last Friday that they will not be able to released Diablo 3 in 2011. Officialy, it's now planned to come out in early 2012 (nothing more precise).

Resources system (Source)
Posted Image

"Live and Let Die" - The life which decreased when you take damages of course, as it's explan in-game, when it's empty you are dead.
Posted Image

"Barbarian: Unleashing the Fury" - While the Barbarian is not fighting, his fury is empty. So his skills are divided in fury generator catégorie (which you will spam) and fury spender, which are more powerfull. He also grant Fury when the ennemies hit him.
Posted Image

"Demon Hunter: Balancing Hatred With Discipline" - The Deamon Hunter is very specific because he have two different resources : The hatred, which regenerate itself quikly and is used for offensive skills divided in the two same gategories than the Barbarian's Fury (Generator / Spender) and the Discipline, which regenerate itself too but less quikly and is used by skills to keep distance from your ennemies like Smoke Screen, traps, etc..
Posted Image

"Monk: Attuning to the Spirit" - The Spirit is really similar to the fury except that the Monk will not grant Spirit by being hit by ennemies
Posted Image

"Witch Doctor: Tapping Into Mana" - The mana work like in all other video games.
Posted Image

"Wizard: Controlling the Arcane Power" - Finally, the Arcane Power is similar to the mana but regenerate itself way faster.

Destroying Items… With Care (Source)
In Diablo 3, you will not have to keep your inventory full of items till you get back to the camp like it was the case in Diablo 1 and 2. By doing the few first quests, you will recieve three useful items :

- The Cauldron of Jordanwhich allows you to sell the items that you are carrying wherever you are. It's very useful to keep fighting instead of returning to the camp just because your inventory is full.

- The Nephalem Cube which allows you to salvage crafting materials from the items that you do not want anymore.

- The Stone of Recall which allows you to transport your character to the camp. There is about 10 seconds of casting time, plus, the stone will creat a portal at the camp which allow you to return where you were when you casted it.

Sharing Is Caring: The Shared Stash (Source)
In Diablo 3 like in the older Diablo, you will have a Stash in which you will be able to store many items. You will be able to buy up to 5 tabs, each containing 70 slots of space, for a total of 350 slots shared with all your characters.
As the same item look different depending of the class which is wearing it, you will be able from your stash to display the stored items as they are displayed for the other classes.
The stash will also store the pooled gold of all your characters in the same amount, and will be accessible by all your characters whatever are their levels.
Of course, the stash will not share its content with the Hardcore characters.

The Skill Calculator (Source)
The Skill Calculator page of the official website is also available, allowing you to see every skills and runed versions of skills that will be unlockable during your leveling. (By the way, if you want a random build, you can click the blue gem at the bottom of the page.)

The Items Database (Source)
